Se observa mucha pintura blanca pero no como corrector sino para representar el humo y polvo del ambiente y se ven grises en la máscara y guantes de Látigo. Por eso en los márgenes se indica en rojo "scan in greyscale and black+white". En una entrevista de Newsarama que se puede consultar en archive.org comentaba que en ese momento prefería entintar sus propias páginas y no pasarle el "marrón" al entintador cuando veía que algo podía dibujarse mejor a tinta que a lápiz.

I needed to open up my drawing abilities more. I want to go into more expressive ways of drawing. Doing things that cannot be expressed properly in just pencil and expect an inker to understand what you are asking of them. It’s not fair to the inker and its not fair to the penciler. So to push myself into newer territories of open and free forms of drawing it was a necessity to start doing it myself. Over the last couple of years I've been doing all of my own inking on covers and about ninety percent of that last few issues of Promethea.

La mencionada Promethea de Alan Moore fue justo su trabajo anterior así que también es preguntado acerca de las diferencias entre los guiones de ambos autores, más caóticos y menos estructurados los del escocés que, como otros artistas también indican, no da los diálogos definitivos lo que provoca desde no dejar espacio suficiente para los bocadillos hasta malinterpretar lo que se describe.

Grant's scripts have a chaotic feel and energy to them, at least this one did. So after working from very structured Alan Moore scripts for so long, I had to really step back for a minute and re-arrange my thinking. It wasn't long before I had a handle on things though. (...) After Alan’s very long writing form and structured script layout it was surprising when reading Grant's script that all of a sudden you could come across a half a page or so that would jump font size to like ten times larger for no apparent reason then go back to his standard size. Stuff like that. Good for a chuckle.

The other thing that I had to figure out was that Grant doesn't provide final dialogue until after he’s seen the art. This was difficult because I always design the art around the balloon placements. That would always help me figure out where I need to concentrate details and visual flow.

Esta metaserie de Grant Morrison se compone de 8 series: los números 0 y 1 de la propiamente dicha "7 Soldiers Of Victory" más las miniseries de 4 números cada una Shining Knight, Manhattan Guardian, Zatanna, Klarion The Witch Boy, Mr. Milagro, Bulleteer y Frankenstein. En la primera edición española de Planeta se publicó un tomo por serie con lo que la lectura puede ser algo confusa. Es mejor seguir el método Morrison que sí respetan los recopilatorios de ECC.
